So we're upset that we're going to be charged on the items that we purchase? Shouldn't we have already been upset with sales taxes?

Sales taxes are OK, I can deal with that. Internet sales taxes are in direct violation of interstate commerce laws.

If you internet buyer's would pay your use taxes this would be a non-issue.

Let's see here- I pay taxes when I earn it, when I spend it, when I use it (car, home, business use), when I give it away (anything over 10k @50), when I win it, if I find it, when it is given to me (anything over 10K), and then when it is all over, it gets taxed again. Pretty sure that we have enough taxes.

You left out one scenario that comes to mind, save it and the fed will debase it.

This is the way I see it
Same reasons we use to go out of state to buy quads (4wheelers)
Call them and order it then drive an hour or so to pick it up to save $700
Or buy them at the boat bike and rv show... It's an international show so there is no state sales tax eventhough you are buying it "in state."

Yes, because it's only legal for the legislature to lie when they waste our tax dollars!

The funny thing is if you use the estimated equation to determine the Use Tax you need to pay for internet purchases, it would be fractions of what you would spend on actual sales tax. If everyone that purchases items off the internet would estimate Use Tax every year, then there would be something to argue with other than "It is only legal for the Legislature to lie when they waste our tax dollars!"

I do not necessarily agree with all the taxes we are forced to pay but the couple of dollars or whatever in Use Tax every year certainly doesn't bankrupt me or come anywhere close to it. If that small amount of money does cause serious financial issues, then that person should seriously reconsider their finances and spending habits.
