NRA- ENDOWMENT LIFE MEMBER
"A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, signed a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -- Author Unknown"
He is right though, I bet many on this board have more than 6000 rounds in their possession right now.
"A well regulated flippity floppity being necessary to the voom of a splendiforous state, the zim zam of the people to bobbidy bibidy shall not be infringed." -- fake Bill Cosby
A couple quotes that stand out:
"As the boxes piled up, he began to shop for guns at sporting goods stores -- because of the need to pass a background check to buy a firearm, they are still generally bought at brick-and-mortar locations."
"Oates said the shooter wore a ballistic helmet, gas mask, throat-protector, tactical vest and pants..."
"By the time police arrived, 90 seconds later, Holmes had shot dozens of people because his rifle was modified with a high-powered drum magazine that allowed him to fire immense amounts of bullets without reloading."
"The NRA has managed to convince the country that this has to happen to protect our Second Amendment rights," Morse said. "As long as we let people buy these guns, we will bury our children."
"If I only had 6,000 rounds for my AR-15s, I'd literally feel naked," Brown said. Then he totaled up Holmes' firearms purchases: "Two handguns, a shotgun and a rifle. That's the average male in Colorado."
The rhetoric in some of those quotes grinds my gears but the last quote gave me a small smile. Has it been confirmed that he was only wearing a tactical vest unaccompanied by a bullet resistant vest? The media is content on using tactical and ballistic interchangeably to fan the fire.

Would not be surprised that most listeners did not pick up on what Petersen said.
I think you're confused. This "shooter" isn't a medical doctor nor was studying to be one so therefore he can't or could have been doing any "paid residency work". And second, to become anesthesiologist it takes 4 years college, 4 years med school and then a 4 year residency. That's 12 years and not 6. PHD students don't make squat.
I red this morning (probably on NBCNews.com) that he was receiving a $26,000/year stripend for living expenses in addition to any money he was receiving for tuition expenses.
A panda eats, shoots, and leaves.
Not gonna argue with you, you are probably right... various news agencies are reporting all kinds of things about the shooter's background.. the truth about him could be any thing right now. As for my neighbor's son.. I have no personal knowledge of what his complete education & residency experience is or what his exact position is at his new job.... all I know is that his Dad & Mom are really bragging on him.. they told me his new job was as a anesthesologist at a hospital near Houston-- and they were extremely happy with the big salary he is now making. It was just specualtion about the Shooter.. like thousands of others are doing right now.
