    Default Local Ammo Hunter Thread

With all the talk about which WM has what ammo available I propose a thread where we can all keep each other informed about what Walmarts or other stores have ammo in stock. I cleaned out the Walmart at Elm and 71st today of all their federal 9mm and grabbed their last .223 federal 100rnd bulk pack too. Grabbed some .22LR for the hell of it while I was there.

I was also thinking, for members that are financially able, if you see a stack of cheap 9mm or .223 on the shelf buy it! Sell it on here to fellow OSA'ers for what you paid for it. I saw a poo load of 9mm in a WM last week and didn't buy because I didn't need it but I was thinking I shoulda bought it and sold it to y'all. If that's legal...but I think it is.

    Anyway, get to sharing information!

Anyone ever try to work up a group buy on ammo?

We've had a few "ammo deal" threads; the trick is to kill it after so long and start a new one, to keep things fresh and current.

I just recieved a e-mail from Cheaper Than Dirt.... concerning 840 rounds of 5.56 red tip tracer rounds in a can for $299. I've never shot the tracer rounds.. but the price doesn't seem to bad given what the cost of the 420 rd cans of 62 gr green tips have been lately.

Tracers are a bad idea in this drought.

Yeah, you wouldn't want to use those fire starters around here until the drought is over.

The run of the mill FMJ 55 gr is the hardest stuff to find right now.

I was in my local Walmart tonight and noticed they had 3 boxes of the 100 ct Federal .223's. They require you pay for ammo at the Sporting Goods register....I had something else I wanted to pick-up and didn't want to write 2 checks so I went to get my other item. I wasn't gone but a few minutes, and some guy had already bought 2 of the boxes and would have bought the 3rd box but didn't have enough cash on him to cover all his other items. So I was able to get a box of the ammo after all. If the ammo you want is one of the popular items like the .223 bulk packs.. better get it whenever you can find it, because there are lots of other people out looking for and stocking up on the same calibers right now.

Stopped in at the Sand Springs WM on the way out to Red Castle today and they had a bunch of the 100 round WWB packs of 9mm. $22ish IIRC.

Walmart on 71st near oneta rd has federal 100rnd packs of 9mm for $20 as of 30mins ago. They probably have about 6 packages left. The have some .223 as well but its $$$ premium hunting ammo.

Both academys in tulsa and owasso walmart have quite a bit of ammo. Academy has way more than walmart though.
