    Default CCI "Quiet"

has anyone tried the "quiet" ammo yet? i bought some at academy the other day. i'll try it in my long barrelled marlin 39. box says its 771fps. should make a nice backyard round for dispatching critters.

I haven't tried the CCIs but shoot the Aguila colibris out of my Marlin 39a and revolvers. They are more quiet than my CO2 bb pistol. The only problem is that they are not powerful enough to cycle a semi-auto(only about 450fps).

VERY quiet. good accuracy out to 25 yards in my Savage FVSR. They will not cycle the action in a Ruger 10/22 or Ruger MKIII pistol.

A buddy of mine shot the Aguilar colibri ammo the other day we were at the range. It was strong enough to cycle his little .22 walther w/ threaded barrel and fake silencer.

    It is super quiet.

I bought 1500 rounds online (I think it was the Armory or Ammo to Go). After shipping it averaged out to around $3.30/box of 50. The only place I could find it in the Tulsa area was Dong's but it is around $5.00/box.

I was at Academy yesterday for a FTF and they had some of the Quiet in stock. I didn't get any though since it was tax-free weekend and all the registers were like 7 people deep.

No Problem. It's best to order in quantities due to shipping costs.

I'm not sure about the "quiet" ammo. but the Aguila Colibri will not cycle my Ruger 22/45.

I bought 3- 100 rd boxes of the CCI CB .22 shorts, 710 fps subsonic - low noise. Not as loud as clapping your hands.
I was going to buy one of those good .22 cal pellet guns with a nitrogen piston that shoots approx. 1,250 fps.. @ about $150.... but these CCI's are much quieter... and for $150 I can buy a heck of a lot of bullets. They are very accurate out to about 45 yds in my bolt action Savage. If I need to hit anything further out, then I'll just pop in a LR. The CB's will do everything I would have wanted a pellet gun to do... only much quieter and cheaper.

i tried them in my marlin 60 and i would almost throw the bolt enough to eject. i would think that would work in a smoothed up 10/22. i'll try it if i ever find another box! my buddy was shooting his suppressed buckmark and i think the 39 was just about as quiet with these shells.
