Hey, at least the employee is alive to get fired! That's the most important thing.
Sunday, in Los Vegas... a man armed with a Samuari Sword tried to rob a Dairy Queen and was shot dead by a employee with a CCW. The woman reporter in the video says that the we normally expect robberies with a gun, but this time it was with a weapon just as powerful.
She goes on to say the only difference was the integrety you should have when carrying such a deadly weapon [the sword]. It is really scary to actually hear some people talk about their beliefs concerning guns. To top it off, the news station may end up getting the worker fired because they contacted the Dairy Queen main offices to find out what their gun policy was and why this employee even had a gun in the store to begin with!
The media can't just be satisfied that a armed citizen has used proper judgement in the past when carrying his weapon and then used it to defend himself & a co-worker... they have to make such a issue that the guy will probably lose his job for having the firearm.

Robbery is not a reason to kill someone, especially if it's someone else's money.
I hope she was actually in a situation where her life was threatened or this is going to go badly for her. Maybe the reporter is doing her a solid trying to convince the public that a Samurai sword is more lethal than your average firearm.
*disclaimer Just because bettingpython says it's probably okay doesn't mean it is so. His opinons and statements are not a defense against prosecution.

Uhh, nope.
Christianity isn't true because it works. Christianity works because it's true.
If she gets fired there are much better jobs out there than dairy queen, or KFC for that matter. Atleast she's alive and able to go home to her family.
I'd say a proper Katana is as powerful as a pistol at 4' and closer.
And robbery itself isn't a reason to kill someone. Threatening someone with a sword inside 7-10 yards is

"When young men seek to be like you, when lazy men resent you, when powerful men look over their shoulder at you, when cowardly men plot behind your back, when corrupt men wish you were gone and evil men want you dead . . . Only then will you have done your share"
Over the years there has been a number of 7-eleven clerks who were killed for less than $50 in the register. And there were big signs on the doors saying that there wasn't more than $50 in the register and that the clerk couldn't open the safe.. they got killed anyway just so there wouldn't be a witness. For some reason, the killers don't care about the cameras or panic alarms. Anyone comes at me with a edged or sharp weapon threatening to harm or kill me and is within 21 feet, I will definitely be in fear of my life and shoot him as many times as it takes for me to get away from him.

in the hands of someone who knows how to use it, a Samurai Sword is just as dangerous a weapon as a gun. And a robbery is a reason to shoot someone, becuase otherwise you have to depend on the criminal to be all nice and not shoot you afterwards...
Used by someone who knows what they're doing, a good quality samurai sword can slice off an arm, leg, or nearly sever someone in half at the waist. Your .45 may leave a hole about .65" across, but a good sword stroke would leave 'em dead before they hit the ground. Japanese army officers tested their samurai swords on Allied prisoners in WW II with gruesome results.
I have to agree with mightymouse. At a average assault distance of gun fight of less than ten feet. If a gun slinger is up against a well trainer samurai sword fighter and the gun guy misses or doesn't put the sword guy down with the first shot he will not get a second shot. He will likely be picking his pistol with his week hand, oh it will be clutch in the strong hand of his severed arm.
Anyone threatening another with a weapon should be considered a deadly threat. When you engage in violent criminal behavior the risk of violent death is inherent in your chosen behavior, don't do things to threaten others and you don't get shot.
