    Default Gun Belts

I know there are many threads related to belts, but I wanted to ask you guys about a belt like this one. http://shop.vtarmynavy.com/pistol-belts-p4866.aspx

May run by the Army surplus store today and see if they have anything like this. What are your thoughts?

honestly? unless the choice is specifically due to fund availability you will not be happy
1st problem what holster type do you use
will it fit on that belt?
    IWB or OWB?
are you thinking about outside your belt loops as a utility battle belt?
you need to give much more info regarding the intended use

It will be used with a 3 slot pancake, OWB. I cant tell by the description how wide it is. I would prefer to get a reinforced leather belt, but I cant afford it at this time. Heres the deal, I finally found and OWB holster that works great for me. Until now I have only used and IWB. Now I find that my belt is not working for me. Its your standard 1 and 3/4 leather walmart belt. I need something more supportive.

I can't see a need for that type personally unless maybe for hunting, etc. For everyday carry, it's not for me.
I think instead I'd try a cheap leather belt from atwoods, walmart, etc until funding a proper belt from looper, beltman, wilderness, etc, etc.

Just save your pennies and buy a reinforced belt from Looper Leather. I am still using the same one I bought back in 2007 and to look at it you wouldnt think its been worn everyday with either my IWB or OWB carry setup.

I bought an Uncle Mike's Reinforced Instructors Belt from Midway USA and i wear it everyday. It was ~$40 shipped and is very stiff and sturdy

I use a military web belt to hold my scoped Redhawk, but I also need the suspenders pictured on the site you posted. I would feel pretty silly in a public place.

As others have said, even a cheap wide belt will probably serve better, and depending on how you are built, you may or may not need the suspenders on the web belt.

The Don Hume leather belts are the best I have ever used. If you want a wide belt. the
river belt at 2 1/4 inches is the best, for a trouser belt look at the officers belt.

I have looked at the Looper leather at H&H and I think the Hume is better. Hume is now a branch of Oklahoma leather located in Miami, Ok.

That belt would probably only be good for hunting, etc. It is about 3 or 4 inches wide. It is the type of belt most seen with canteens and other junk hanging off of it. (At least before the new vests came out anyway.) We still get issued them, but they are only really used to keep the bottom of the load bearing vest from flopping around. I haven't seen a holster that would fit on that belt, except a Jacket slot, drop leg rig, or flap holster. And to be honest most of the time guys I've worked with use a shoulder holster for a pistol anyway. (Good luck getting it through belt loops too...) Hope that helps.

Blackhawk makes a reinforced leather belt for 29 bucks, OPS or someone should have them in stock.
