As usual Colt is ten years behind the times, with an interesting but nonetheless likely to fail nuance added to a pre-existing design. Buy an OBR instead.

I picked one up a couple months ago. Well built but a bit heavy especially when compared to the Scar. I ran one mag thru, cleaned and put back in the box. Also just paid $300 for the conversion block as it just came in stock at colt. While I have a scar it will likely stay in the box.

These people do know that you can buy a complete AR15 lower for less then $200 ... right?

Surely it's easier to have a complete rifle vs upper + buffer + buffer spring + proprietary contraption.

Pretty much. That or they are Colt dweebs. :p

I've put some rounds through a buddy's in TX whilst hog hunting. Smooth shooting. It is a bit heavy but the best way I can describe it is familiar.

I know you can buy a complete lower for cheap, if that's your thing. I'm asking about it as a .308 rather than a caliber swappable rifle.
