Polls for feedback?

I like dustin's idea of setting up his feedback in poll form.
what do you guys think?
(until we get a new system)

Keep in mind that if you do decide to go that route, the mods aren't going to combine your current feedback threads.
To me this has never been a huge concern since most of them are found through searches anyway and even if not, it's really not too hard for someone on this board to provide references if they need to....

concerns:
If someone has positive AND negative feedback on a person, how will that play out overall?
thoughts?

Hmmm. I know I am probably biased on the issue, but I don't see the multiple feedback to be a huge problem just a limitation on the application. The members can still post in the threads and let the negatives come to light or vice versa. I saw the poll as just a "quick check" before you buy from a person. It will be apparent if a member is not doing their best in their dealings with the other members. I know it isn't perfect, but it seems like a novel idea to me even with its limitations.

Less explanation. Someone could leave negative feedback and offer no explanation for it. Or the member getting the neg might not even know who is leaving it, and not be able to say anything in their own defense.

If I were reading feedback, and it were a poll system, unless someone had a lot of negative votes, negative votes without explanation wouldn't mean much to me.

I'm not a fan of anonymous reporting.

You can set the polls up so you can see who voted how. Like the poll in this thread.

I like being able to read about the persons transactions. If the poll ONLY shows good votes and bad votes, I'm not for it.

I was thinking that since you could set up the poll to allow more than one choice that it'd allow you to go back and vote again...WRONG!

While it certainly looked like a great idea, this issue seems to be a major wrench in the works....

Well I already voted for the poll type, but then decided I really like COWZRUL's idea. Don't mean to be wishy washy, but didn't really think about the term "Feedback" which implies you leave, well, feedback. Just a thought!
