I received a Model 19 in trade and was wondering what its worth??? its a 4" 357 model 19 with some kind of custom handles (OK COPS Concerns of Police Survivors C.O.P.S.) It has a little wear from being a duty pistol on the cylinder & the tip of the barrel. So whats it worth if i was going to sell what should i ask??? 400-550 more or less

The bluing wear looks pretty heavy and the grips look like std. S&W Magnas that someone has cobbled the logo into (also with heavy wear on the grips).

On the upside it is a pinned and recessed which some folks prefer and the turn ring on the cylinder doesn't look too heavy. The cylinder notches don't look peened much and the side plate and screws look fairly unmolested. If the gun has no hidden mechanical flaws then I'd guess you're probably looking somewhere around the low end of your estimate.

Well the turn ring looks a little heavier in the second set of pics and the back screw is a little buggered up (possibly swapped from the front, which isn't good). A thorough examination from a competent revolver person would be in order before an accurate estimate could be given.

It's easy to price a minty one, but one with significant wear is a little more subjective.

the gun has this blue black color to it like stated its wore on the tip of the barrel & the cylinder. I shoot the gun today before i accepted the trade and man its dead on with not one issue. I was very surprised how light the trigger was when you had the hammer pulled back. To be honest it felt like i didn't even squeeze the trigger and it went bang. (scared the **** out of me the first few times)

Well would the revolver be worth more if i had it re-blued or should i just not worry about it??? To be honest i'm not a revolver person and if i don't blue it i will probably let it go with ammo for 400.00 if it is re-blued would i be able to get 500.00???

never ever reblue a gun in hopes of getting a higher value. That particular gun with that much wear is what is considered shooter grade.I have worked many many gun shows and you will get around $250-300 for it at any table.I bought a model 686-1 at the last grand national, from a dealer table, with the full lug and nickel finish for $380.00.
