All you young down-state whipper-snappers don't know SQUAT about chili. ALWAYS have beans. My mom and my wife used to cook the beans overnight and then add them to the chili. Usually, it was Pinto beans. As I got older and didn't require so much work from my wife (I can't cook), I decided to settle for Ranch Style beans instead of the overnight cooked beans. Being from the Panhandle, where the REAL Okies come from, I speak with ALL the authority on chili. So, if you try to call me a Yankee because I want beans in my chili, then it's WAR!!!!! Oh, by the way, beans and cornbread is good as well. Love it. Oh, and there are bean sandwiches. Anyone ever tried that one?
