Liquor stores and whole sellers have the monopoly. They don't want any competition...period. Why give up selling "normal" beer for a great profit AND make your competition(grocery stores/gas stations) sell the cheap stuff. Don't fall for "it will allow or promote underage drinking". Every time I get into a discussion that gets brought up. My response..."I agree, stop all alcohol sells at all sporting events...Thunder, Redhawks, Barons...etc". "Children and minors are at those games and you wouldn't want them exposed to unnecessary alcohol." That usually shuts them up. Then you get the liquor store owners stating if that happens, they can't compete. B.S.!!! Let hard alcohol stay in the liquor stores...they could also sell wine and beer. Wine and strong beer/ale let it be sold in stores. To help liquor stores compete, let them sell cold beer and wine, food, tobacco, and hold vendor sampling.....basically...DO IT LIKE TEXAS DOES IT!!! Also, let breweries and brewpubs be allowed to sell you a growler full of beer. Yes, a growler...look it up. If Oklahoma wants to compete with the big boys, it needs to start changing restricted laws. Don't know if its true, but I keep hearing the reason Costco and Central Market refuse to come to Okie land is because of our crazy liquor laws.
