I too worry about the future of our nation. In the past it was impossible to maintain surveillance on a nation of millions, as it had to be done by actual human beings. Today, with the advent of powerful computers, it is not only possible, but is in use as we speak. I was appalled to hear a govt. official argue that new cell phone encryption was too strong, and that the govt. needed access to spy on us. Also our education system is a joke, we graduate students, who go on to be teachers that can't even tell you in what decade the Civil War on WWII took place in. These are actual examples of folks in College classes, that I was a teaching assistant in, and couldn't answer these simple questions. I don't have any kids, but I worry about the fate of my nieces and nephews and their children.
