For 7 years I used Frontline Plus on my dogs and I spread 7 granuals all over the yard in April and July every year.
That kept the fleas and ticks out of my yard and off my dogs. Unfortunately, Goliath developed stomach cancer last year
and I stopped poisoning the lawn and ceased the Frontline plus. Most all of the natural stuff did not work to protect him,
but spreading cedar chips and shavings around the edges of the yard helped a little. Goliath's cancer had advanced too
much and I had to put him down this morning. I believe that his cancer was a combination of all of the chemicals I exposed
him to and am kicking myself for it still. He is gone now, but I take some comfort that he's not suffering any more. I was too wrapped up
in my own little world to realize that 3 years ago, Sampson too had developed stomach cancer. I had to put him down
in 2014. My 2 dogs from totally different litters and not even remotely related, both developed stomach cancer. Now my boys are
off chasing each other in the afterlife. I'm sad and grieving and I can't help but think that it is all my fault. No more pets ever.
Not even if there comes a time when fleas and ticks are nonexistent. I couldn't handle having to go through this with a furry friend ever again.
I hope a great solution comes along that won't poison your pets to control the parasites. It is tough to lose your best 4 legged friends.

Shame you had to lose your friends. Our dogs are like our kids. We love them.

Yes Dennis. I died a little inside yesterday. If I'd further studied the ingredients of the chemicals
I was using to control the bugs instead of listening to the "professionals" telling me that the benefits
outweigh the possible side effects, I might still have at least one healthy furry friend still with me.
There is a hole about 2/3's the size of my heart now. Losing another furry friend would turn me heartless.
Love your furry friends and make sure that you're not slowly killing them to protect them folks.

We switched to Bravecto also, little expensive, but it works for ticks, heavy in my area. Never had a flea problem, so do not know about that.

evidently there's enough going on with dogs on braveto having severe medical issues including dying to question it's safety

Bravecto (flea & tick treatment) should be removed from the market WITHOUT DELAY!!!!

LcUaUVhvbvYgHOz-800x450-noPad.jpg

We are petitioning for Bravecto to be removed from the market. Ever since a social media post about Bravecto went viral in June 2015, controversy around this product has not stopped increasing. And neither have the amount of Bravecto related side effects, adverse reactions and deaths.

In spite of numerous reports filed with Merck/MSD, the FDA and other government agencies, this issue is not being addressed properly. It is now time to take action. Please do the right thing by signing this petition. We need this drug to be withdrawn from the veterinary scene with immediate effect since side effects can be severe.

The following Facebook page was started to raise awareness to the side effects. Please join if you have not already. If your dog has experienced side effects, they can help you report them to MSD/Merck.

While the incidence of side effects is reported to be low (due in part to most dog owners not reporting the side effects that their dogs were subjected to), the severity of side effects is concerning. There are many reports of severe pancreatic issues including bloody vomit and diarrhoea. Additionally, reports of seizures, skin issues, and kidney failure are reported worldwide.

Many of the side effects have been very serious and needed veterinary treatment sometimes costing the owners thousands to treat to try and save their dogs. As of the end of June 2016, the European Medicine Agency reports include, besides multiple general short lived side effects, also approximately 2000 serious cases of adverse reactions from Bravecto such as seizures, renal failure, liver damage, etc, including 470 deaths. But please note: these numbers are most likely heavily understated since the FDA estimates that approximately 1% of all side effects on drugs are actually reported. In my opinion, reasons for this tendency usually include the fact that not many people know that they can report the reactions and if they do know, they do not know how to go about it. Should you need help in reporting any reaction to Bravecto, including the death of your furkid, please visit the Facebook group "Does Bravecto Kill Dogs?" by following the link provided below, and we will help you with pleasure to file your report.

Once given to your dog Bravecto stays in the system for at least three months. There is NO ANTIDOTE AVAILABLE.

Here is a link to some cases of side effects of dogs which had seizures, some of which resulting in death https://www.facebook.com/groups/411371212394679/permalink/464664963731970/

This is a link containing information on actual cases reported by MSD and information about the study done for approval. While MSD states the testing was extensive, the study for FDA approval was done on slightly more than 200 dogs:

I'm sorry, but that is nothing more than internet rumor. I followed some of the links provided (not all admittedly) but that is simply a case of "my dog died, what can I blame?". In all the links, I saw zero causative effects linking that even indirectly to Bravecto. It's one of the safest products we've seen. In well over a year of selling the product (hundreds of doses) we've had 1 dog that vomited the product (and very possibly that was simply coincidental).
