I absolutely DESPISE Poachers. My Brother and I have had the same hunting lease for 12 years now. We have spent thousands of dollars Planting Foodplots, Setting & Stocking Feeders, Scouting Trails and Managing the Herd only to find 2-3 Field Dressing piles a year. Finally, Last year we caught an Older Gentelmen (Mid to Late 50's) and his 15 year old Grandson poaching on our lease last year. Grandson actually mistook me for a deer and took a shot at me as well (Even though I was Head to Toe in Blaze Orange). I was barely able to control my Fallujah Flashbacks and refrained from shooting the pair. (I am seriously worried what he is teaching the next generation of hunters). Game Warden just so happened to drive down our road to check licenses 10 minutes later. All the Game Warden did was speak with the Gentlemen and assured me it would not happen again. One Week later caught the same guy on my lease again (This time Vadalizing Our Stands & Feeders). Game Warden was called and pretty much He said if I was not the "Land Owner" filing the complaint that it would go now where. Had the "Land Owner" file a complaint and have not heard anything since last November. If I catch him this year I will have to seriously control my temper, flashbacks and training as I will no doubt be tempted to permanently "STOP" his poaching country style.
