For your budget, I'd highly recommend a Kershaw Leek. I've owned several over the years and absolutely loved them!

If you want to go a bit over budget, look at the Scott Cook Lochsa. They are amazing!!

I have a few kizer's, and I have a few civivi. Blade steel does make a difference. D2 holds an edge for awhile but rusts rather easy. My kizers are 154 cm, which holds a decent edge and sharpens fairly easy. Vg10 is my favorite steel, it holds a good edge and is easy to sharpen. This kizer

is my favorite at the moment.
