Seriously though, I have a 50" Mitsubishi that the red is starting to blur. The gain has been maxed out already due to it being old and reaching end of life the last time I had the power supply worked on. Is there anything reasonable that can be done or is it just dying with no affordable hope.

I just installed ubuntu 11.10 on my computer at home and am having problems with the printer. It is a HP printer so I installed hplip. When I run hp-check -r it tells me it can't find the right version of xsane. I ran apt-get install xsane, and it says the latest version is already installed. What gives, is it the wrong version or something?
