Its ok. I was practicing for being shipwrecked on a deserted island. Prepping and all that.
I think it was the ecologically sound thing to do. Bottle is glass. Glass is just sand. Paper label is just wood. Glue is just horse hooves and cartilage. All perfectly natural things being returned to nature where they came from. I do the same thing with the oil from my car. It was pumped out of the ground, I just borrowed it from nature for a while. When I am done with it I pour it back into the ground where it came from, just like any responsible nature loving American should do.
