They had a glitch yesterday.
The onboard computer rebooted into safe mode and no one knows why.
It's back to normal now but mission scientists are somewhat apprehensive.

Nah, it's probably related to the leap second from last week--it's just that it takes so long for communications to make it from here to there and back that it hit later. ;)

The New Horizons spacecraft received a final velocity boost by slingshotting around Jupiter to give it the current velocity of 23 kilometers per second or 869 miles per minute which works out to 14.3 miles per second.
It would travel from downtown OKC to Norman in about 1.3 seconds if my math is correct, which it may not be since I'm on my first cup of coffee.:coffee2:
