Police say one person was shot after men wearing hoodies and masks kicked in the front door of a north Tulsa home early Friday.

Officers said the home invasion happened in the 4500 block of North Johnstown at about 4 a.m.

Police said three men were home at the time. The victims told officers the men ransacked the home and took jewelry and car keys. A 50-year-old victim attempted to run away, but was shot in the buttocks. The robbers then left in the victim's 1982 Chevy Monte Carlo heading west on 46th Street North.

EMSA took the shooting victim to the hospital with what police said was a non-life threatening wound.

Police continue to investigate.

look at the video in post #280,
Watch closely as the gun fires,, watch the recoil of the gun.. NO recoil.
This leads be to believe the gun was a .22 or other small size.
No blood on the wall behind the guy that was shot. Personally I would want a bigger gun than his.

Good point. I wonder what the legalities are in Brazil as far as legal calibers to own/carry? The BG's still ran away into the night leaving the driver and his front seat passenger (and whoever else might be in the car) in safety.

Armed Detroit Woman Fights Off 5 Home Invaders
Got her gun after a previous break in

June 10, 2015 5:47 pm

A Detroit woman was able to fight off five home invaders in a shootout early Tuesday morning. The woman, who has a concealed carry permit, took the robbers by surprise after they burst in her bedroom window, WDIV reports.

“I was able to get to my gun. They didn’t know I had it. By that time, it was just gunfire,” Ms. Dee said.

She was hit in the foot and is expected to be OK. She said she believes at least one of the men was also shot.

Ms. Dee said she got a gun license after her home was broken into three years ago.

TULSA - A Tulsa firefighter held a burglary suspect at gunpoint early Tuesday morning while waiting for police to arrive.

Just after 3 a.m. officers responded to a home near 101st and Mingo. Upon arrival, officers found the victim holding the suspect, Jonathan Parker, at gunpoint in the middle of the street.

The victim, who is also a member of the National Guard, told police he was asleep when he heard his alarm sound and the front door open. After grabbing a pistol, the victim made sure no one was inside, then drove north from his house looking for suspicious subjects.

Police say the victim's wife called him after finding someone sitting in the driver's seat of the victim's work truck, a Tulsa Fire Department training SUV.

The victim returned to his home where he found Parker inside the vehicle. Police say he confronted Parker, ordering him to the ground at gunpoint.

That could have been bad, as he could have been construed as having gone looking for trouble had a shooting occurred.

Yeah, that first one doesn't smell right...

there is a Q&A video link at the end of the first video

the people live in South Africa so sleeping with a gun right in bed with you there is probably the smart and safe thing to do

they are probably lucky the GF missed because in South Africa if you shoot and wound you will often find yourself being drug into court because they feel that if you only wounded someone the threat was not dire enough to actually shoot them

Police say a man was shot early Thursday as he tried to kick in the front door of an apartment.

Tulsa Police were called about a shooting in the 6500 block of South Newport at about 1:30 a.m. Officers said the man was uncooperative.

Police found the shooting scene at a nearby apartment. Residents there told officers the man was trying to kick in the door so they shot through the door.

Resident Shot, Another Beaten During Tulsa Home Invasion Robbery
Jul 28, 2015

kotv.images.worldnow.com_images_8419146_G.jpg

TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa Police are looking for four men involved in a violent east Tulsa home invasion early Tuesday.

Officers said four men entered a back yard just before 2:15 a.m. in the 1900 block of South 117th East Avenue, killed the family dog and then broke the sliding glass door to get inside the home.

Police said the men demanded cash from the five people inside. When the victims didn't hand over enough money, one of the men shot a victim in the mouth with a rifle while another pistol whipped a second victim.

The robbers then tied up the others before leaving out a back door. Police believe they ran through a creek and an industrial area behind the home, where they likely had a car parked.

"They didn't have a whole lot of cash. It's just the unfortunate thing that a guy got shot in the face and really for nothing to be honest with you. There's just zero reason for this whatsoever. A family pet got killed, it's just vicious," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Brandon Watkins.

Officers searched the neighborhood but could not find them.

Police said the victims gave officers only a vague description of the robbers. Police said the victims' wounds were not life-threatening.

Missouri 11-year-old fatally shoots 16-year-old intruder
September 04, 2015

An 11-year-old Missouri boy shot and killed a 16-year-old boy during an attempted home invasion Thursday afternoon, St. Louis County police said.

Police said two suspects tried to break into the home north of downtown St. Louis twice before the shooting on Thursday. On the third try, authorities said the unidentified teen went through the home's unlocked front door while the 11-year-old and a 4-year-old girl were home alone. Police said the younger boy shot the teen in the head. The would-be burglar's body was found in the home's front foyer.

Investigators said no one else was hurt in the incident. The second suspect fled the scene after the shooting, but was later taken into custody.

The 11-year-old's mother was being interviewed by investigators. St. Louis County police spokesman Sgt. Brian Schellman described her as cooperative with the investigation.

Fox2Now reported that police want to know why the children were home alone and why the 11-year-old had access to a gun. Police believe the mother bought the gun after prior break-in attempts.
