the gory damage inflicted by homeowner with a sword seems excessive until you realize those thugs doing the home invasion would do the same to you and your family without remorse. there's been many a home invasion where thugs beat defenseless grandmothers that posed no threat to death.

that's why all knocks at my door are greeted with a loud challenge "Who's there?"
UPS and other deliveries .. door is not opened unless I can see a UPS/USPS, etc. truck outside.

there's a warning sticker on all the doors .. "There is Nothing inside worth your life!"

Burglar Shoots At Jenks Homeowner, Police Say

JENKS, Oklahoma -

Jenks Police are looking for a man who shot at a homeowner early Wednesday after opening the garage door during a burglary attempt.

Officers said just after 5 a.m. the homeowner confronted the man who had just opened the door. He told police the man fired at him but missed. A second bullet hit the home.

Police said the homeowner fired four shots at the burglars, but none of them were hit.

They said the suspect got a garage door opener from a vehicle parked in the driveway.

They said the suspect then got into a maroon or red four-door car with two other men inside and drove east on 91st Street South towards Elwood.

Elderly Man Shoots Tulsa Home Invasion Suspect

An 85-year-old homeowner shot a home invasion suspect who is in critical condition, according to Tulsa Police. The home invasion took place around 11 p.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of West Marshall.

The homeowner told officers a man with a gun forced his way into the house, and they got into a struggle. The elderly homeowner was shot in the hip and the suspect twice in the torso. Police believe the suspect in the home invasion has a punctured lung and severed spinal cord, records show. both men have been taken to the hospital.

Police said the homeowner also had a wound to his head from the assault. His wounds are not believed to be life threatening.

Tulsa Police Make Arrest Fatal Home Invasion

Tulsa police made an arrest in the murder of a man who was shot and killed in what they believe was a fatal home invasion.

Police have been investigating the murder of 35-year-old Curtis Clayton, AKA Moreland; and Friday, they issued a warrant for 19-year-old Geomari Washington.

According to police, Washington was located in the 4900 block of North Boulder.

They said they are continuing to investigate and more arrests are possible.

Just before 9:30 p.m. on December 23, 2015, police received a shooting call in the 2800 block of East 44 Place North. When they arrived they found Clayton shot.

Investigators determined Clayton and several others were in an unattached building behind a home in the area when four to five masked, armed men forced their way into the building.

Police said the men demanded their property and said during the robbery Clayton was shot in the head.

Masked man robs north Tulsa family of six at gunpoint

A man said his family was robbed near Pine and Utica.
The victim said the masked man held him at gunpoint and forced his family to lay on the ground and robbed them.
Police have not named a suspect.

A masked man is accused of forcing a family of six on the ground and robbing them in north Tulsa.

The victim said he was driving home from work around 10 p.m. near Pine and Utica when he said he noticed someone following him.

He said he thought the dark car initially belonged to a police officer.

The victim said he turned into his driveway, and a masked man was waiting for him with a gun by the time he got out of his car.
