I started with a chest rig but found it to be too constricting, contemplated a belt but decided to try a gun toting pack. With a few modifications it has worked out well in practices anyway. We'll find out in a week how it works in the real competition. Snuck out on the county road for a run this morning in full gear then shot for a while in my pasture. The road was a fresh change from the normal pasture run. After shooting i was feeling good so I decided to run some more out on the road, about a 1/2 mile from the house a local policeman pulled beside me and said he'd received a call about a guy toting a AR. I explained the situation as he drove along beside me, he laughed and said 'they forgot to mention you had it in a pack, good luck b/c you sure look tired', turned his vehicle around and headed back to town. I think it was a crew working on the railroad spur that called because I hadn't seen more a few cars/trucks on the lightly traveled road and I remember the crew giving me a funny look when I passed them. Oh well, guess ill stick to the pasture running when i carry the gun, sure dont want to freak anybody out.
