Salt lick is a landmark type place, but isn't amazing. Their sauce is mostly mustard based so be ready for that. The real one in Dripping is in a dry county and BYOB. This can make it pretty fun to visit. During peak times wait can be very long. Blacks BBQ is awesome, IMHO. Usually low wait and awesome for the money. Of course Franklin is notorious but I've been here for going on 7 years and never got up the motivation to stand in line for hours for it. If you hear about the Oasis be aware it's a tourist trap. Views are cool but price is high for super mediocre Mexican food. Go to Hula HUT instead if you want to be on the water. Torchy's of course is good and reasonably priced for tacos but there are TONS of taco places. I love Hopdoddy for burgers but some think it's overhyped. They are a good enough that HopBunz in Tulsa ripped them off and are still in a lawsuit over it. For a quicker, cheaper burger P Terrys is my favorite. They were just one place in the Barton Springs area but have exploded in recent years. It's similar to IN and OUT but local and better, IMO. I'm tired of typing on my phone or I'd go on. lol. I'm in Leander BTW I'd you ever need anything. Same for you Yukon..
