Can the M&P's thumb safety be removed similar to the mag safety that wont let you fire when it is removed?
I have the safety and hate it and want to remove it, is this possible? If so how?

Yeah, you can remove it permanently by buying a Glock.

No help to you, but I'm curious why you dislike the safety. I was thinking about one of these in 45 to give the 1911 a break and was thinking I'd get one with the safety to keep more consistent across guns. Any problem with it or just a preference thing?

While carrying is rubs against you, especially in Smart Carry. Also, it clicks itself off an on during CC. Besides all that, I hate safetys. They are one more thing to hinder your first shot that counts.

They make an M&P w/o the thumb safety, and yes S&W makes a filler for you to take the thumb safety off so dust wont get inside your weapon. You can take them off

Wish they'd make a filler for the lock on the side of their guns!

I wish they would can the idea of the IL all together, and give the person or people responsible a good lashing and send them to the unemployment line.
