True socialism is like true conservatism. Some might think you're only a true conservative if you're an evangelical who thinks gay marriage is equitable to terrorism and Israel must be backed at all costs. Some conservatives think you're only a true conservative if you want all drugs decriminalized and and lean towards non-intervention or isolation.

'true' doesn't mean much. Unless you don't believe in RINOs.

Everyone is a RINO, except for me, of course. I'm the real deal, ya dig?

The problem is people today manipulate the meaning of words to the point we no longer think words have any value. That's a cop out. Words have definitions and meanings. Allowing anyone at any time to redefine important words is just another step towards meaninglessness.

I'm not buying...

What does a Republican stand for? What about a conservative?

They have definitions, right? Should be easy. I know you have radically different beliefs than many OSA members. Surely you all don't vote in a similar manner.

I'd rather focus on the premise of the OP, which is socialism. How is socialism compatible with individual gun ownership for defense of the individual?

socialism is just an economic theory. unlike communism, it isn't necessarily burdened by government regulation in the area of gun ownership. But of course the reality is, socialism needs an authoritarian/communist government and therefore is not compatible with private gun ownership.

It's actually socioeconomic. As you state, can't have one without the other. The premise falls flat on it's face without it.

Many socialists focus on the labor controlling the capital. No reason the labor can't be armed. Many prominent socialists have advocated arming the proletariat and resisting all attempts at disarmament.

“… the workers must be armed and organized. The whole proletariat must be armed at once with muskets, rifles, cannon and ammunition… Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary. ” – Karl Marx, Address of the Central Committee to the Communist League

communism is a stateless society. it's never existed on a large scale in the modern world.

silly childish wet dream? of course. just like the hardcore libertarians and their ridiculous economic views. pro-authoratarian? nah. anti-gun? nah.
