For the past hour I have been hearing a very loud noise outside like a large military plane flying over, but the sound comes to a sudden stop. It does not fade off in the distance. What could this be?

There it goes again. Sounds initially like a plane taking off, but the way the sound stops abruptly is what is making me curious.

I think I have an idea. The sound is coming from the direction of Will Rogers, so it could be jets doing powerback.

Sounds like engine runs going on. They do a lot of the abrupt start/stop runs at Tinker. I'm sure they do some at Will Rogers too.

Probably some of my co-workers. However, the airport guys usually shut it down pretty quickly. Quiet hours.......:brick:

We heard it. Sounded like testing jet engines.
