I have a buddy here in Stillwater whose son is a Border Patrol Agent and was stationed at Sierra Blanca a few years ago. He told me I better pack a pistol, which I always do anyway. I did leave the keltec .380 at home and carried my xdc .45 the whole trip. I told all the guys in our group they should carry and as it turned out, everyone in camp was carrying a sidearm but Darrell. Of course, the BP comes out on Tuesday to tell us they had sighted 5 illegals carrying back packs coming through the ranch we were on and they were last seen up on mountain behind camp and guess who is hunting up there....Darrell, the only one without a gun. I called him quick to tell him to keep his eyes open. I am pretty sure he will be carrying a gun if we go back.
