[QUOTE="emapples, post: 3003269, member: 11752"] This is pretty simple a $15 minimum wage for a $5 dollar is almost as dumb as the government paying $2000 for a hammer. This kind of law and moreover the progressive agenda in general if taken to its logical conclusion will simply eliminate motivation and ambition over time. Why try to better yourself when you can flip burgers for $15 an hour and the government will give you the rest? This law was a bad idea, like Obamacare companies simply adjust and reduce full time positions and hours worked etc. Is it true that there are single parents out there that are in a bind? That have kids to feed? That have bills to pay, housing, cars, credit cards? Yes they sure do and many of them have likely made some poor choices to get in the situation they are in. And with the government as there safety net they never really feel the sting of their bad decisions. This is how you destroy the fabric of a country, this mentality alone will be the end of this Rebublic. Everyone should have to pay for (and live with the consequences of) their poor choices I know I sure have and in some cases still do. You should also enjoy the fruit born from your good decision as well, today the progressive movement wants to tell me we are glad you made good choices, now it's time to pay up for others who didn't.
