I bought some old VW Bug books froma lady on FB Marketplace, send her the money via PayPal and we were both happy. Still it was a gamble evn at $40.00. I wouldn't do that with much more money, it sin't worth the risk.

I recently got a new credit card from a company I've been with for years. They offered a free background check to see if my identity is ripe for stealing. I never respond to texts or calls or emails from unknown entities and if I get something from a company I actually do business with I contact them directly I don't click on links or texts. Having said all that I accepted the free check and FIFTEEN places had ALL my personal information, SSN, name, address, phone, and DOB! I changed my pass words but it's a pit of vipers out there. You can't be too careful.
Did you then buy the credit service they advertised?
