Get one for the Glock. Pistol round is slower than sound, so it'll actually be more silent than the loud crack of a 5.56 cutting through the air.

a heavy bullet in 40 s&w should already be subsonic so it is a perfect platform for a suppressor. 5.56 is a really light bullet and all about speed the sonic-boom or crack will still be very loud and I don't think I have ever seen or heard of subsonic 5.56. It wouldn't be very effective either about the same as that 60gn 22lr Subsonic I suppose.

So to make the silencer worth while you might as well make your 5.56 into a 22lr or go with the 40.

FWIW, my friend shot his AAC Evolution .40 back to back with my Gemtech Multimount 9mm and there was NO comparison. He was so PO'd he is going to send the can in to AAC because he thinks something is wrong with it. He was shooting 180gr SS ammo and I was shooting my 147gr handloads (3.4gr of TiteGroup, Hornady FMJ's).

I'd recommend getting a 9mm conversion barrel for your 23 (this is what I did) and picking up a MM or an SWR Trident. Bang for the buck, they're the quietest pistol caliber cans out there. The AAC Ti-Rant is a little quieter but it's a lot more money than either of them.

I suggest 9mm also because any of the 147gr ammo is subsonic right out of the box. I handloaded a bunch of it and it's cheap and uber-quiet. Not to mention 9mm ammo is everywhere and it's cheaper than .40.

.40 cans are much louder than 9mm cans. If you're going to suppress your Glock, get a 9mm conversion barrel and a 9mm can. I will say I did this with my G-23, but after shooting my friend's G-17, I sold the 23 9mm barrel and got a threaded barrel for my 17 instead.

My vote would also be to get a .22 lr can first. Having AAC .22, 9mm and 5.56 cans myself, I think you get a lot more suppressor bang for the buck with a .22 can than the other two.
