OK Guys, I think I am ready to set forth on this Journey. I have done some studying on here and have probably read too Much to remember it all. So I am gonna ask you guys on here for some input.

First of all, The Gun. That's right I don't even know what Gun I am going to use,BUT I do know the caliber, 9mm for Minimum noise (except the .22) So for my first question. what would be a can friendly 9mm? I don't care on size. can I have the barrel of a 92fs threaded to work with a can? it seems like a pretty cheap reliable option.
any other gun suggestions?


Of coarse I am gonna buy the can before the gun so I can get the paperwork going. I am gonna Use Maj as I have told him in the past I would. so that brings me to the Can. I am thinking from what I have read that for the money the trident is the way to go. I am wanting something that will come on and off the gun fairly easy. does everyone agree that the trident fits this bill?

I forgot to mention, I would also like to use the same Can on a 9mm carbine or SBR in the future. so will the trident 9 still do all that?

And is a trust still an option, I think it would be the way to go vs, the prints and LEO signatures.

The Beretta 92 would be a good suppressed 9mm. I find shooting suppressed 9mm to be more enjoyable with a gun that has a full size grip to help balance it better and give more leverage against the extra weight of the can.

The Trident is a good overall 9mm can to get as it's full auto rated and can be had with a multitude of mounting options. On the Beretta you would most likely have to use a Nielsen device (booster) to get it to function. The 92 has been successfully suppressed without the use of a booster using light cans and reduced power recoil springs.

I'd recommend a Jarvis threaded barrel, or get your factory barrel threaded by someone like Tornado Technologies. There are several 92 variants and not all of them have a barrel that extends past the slide far enough to thread for a can, particularly one that needs a booster. They require more space between the rear of the can and front of the slide to function correctly. You should consult with your chosen manufacturer for specs on mounts and their suggestions.

One thing to consider on the Beretta is sights. Many who shoot suppressed 9mm's want taller sights to see them over the diameter of the can. I use Dawson Precision adjustable fiber optic sights on my suppressed Glock 17. Another good choice are the Meprolight adjustable tritium sights. But most Berettas have an integral front sight. There's a company that makes a taller front sight that you pin onto the integral sight, but it's a pretty ugly setup. A better choice would be one of the 92 variants such as an Elite, Brigadier or Vertec that has a dovetailed front you can replace with a taller sight (keep in mind the aforementioned barrel length on variants if you want to thread the factory barrel).

Of course, you could always just ghost the factory sights behind the can with both eyes open if you don't want to add taller sights. It's easily done but many suppressor users don't like to do it.

I'd definitely recommend doing tons of research on line before you pay the $200 stamp. There's nothing worse than having buyers remorse after you've paid the tax for it. Finally, I'd recommend you attend a silencer shoot if possible, such as the one they're trying to set up in Tulsa for this spring. That way you can handle several different suppressors and mounting platforms before you decide. Hope this helps!

Does Major do truss's? I am thinking that is the way I am going to go. If I go ahead and buy the trident 9. is there any guns it won't work on? I guess that is what I need to be asking.

Maj. can help you with a Trust and no, the Trident should work on any .355" bored gun you want so long as you can thread it, get a threaded barrel for it, weld on a barrel extension and thread that or mount a three lug adapter.

Maj. has a threaded HK P7 and it costs big bucks to do one of those, but it can be done. Heck, he even had a Nagant revolver threaded!

From what I understand, most who go with the SWR is because of its versatility (although, Im not sure what they mean. I though as long as the proper mounts were available, a supressor could be used on anything that had the matching bore).

All that said, Im planning on going with the SWR and running it on a USP Tac, eventually a MP5 build, and my AR.

I certainly wouldn't put my Evo-9 on a full auto 9mm AR. I wouldn't have that reservation with a Trident. Is the Ti-Rant full auto rated? If so, the A.S.A.P. system on the Ti-Rant would definitely push it above the Trident IMO. It's the best feature of my Evo-9.

I never had any interest in a .45 suppressor, but if the .45 Ti-Rant is truly ear safe when dry, I may have to put that on my wish list.

The Ti-Rant 45 is truly hearing safe dry (as is the Silencerco Osprey 45). They're both amazing cans - I'll have demos at the silencer shoot that Tyler is putting together.
