Anyone running one? If so, any issues?

I recently picked up an AK-74 and the cheap surplus ammo got me thinking about a 5.45 upper.

Insert gratuitous NFA pron here...

I havent run a 5.45 SBR but I have played with an Adams arms piston upper in 5.45x39. That thing was pretty freakin SWEET.

Steve at Cold Hand Arms actually has one in stock right now.

The only problem I have had with mine is the magazines.
I only have one that feeds reliably.
There was a thread on here that someone said what the best kind of mag is but I cannot find it.

The ARFCOM consensus is the new CProducts magazines work pretty well. Using USGI with standard followers seems to be hit or miss. Some report good results with the Rev M PMags as seen here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OhDiVZiDkA

Mags are the biggest problem. I'd say the CProducts mags are 50/50. When I had my 5.45 upper I sent back 5 of the 10 mags I had to be replaced. The other issues are the dirty nasty surplus rounds or the Wolf crap. But a piston system would help with most of those issues. Of course all of this adds up and you'd have to shoot around 14k rounds to break even over the cost of 223 when I added it up. To me fighting the mags wasn't worth it in the end. I'd rather invest in a nicer AK platform then a 5.45 AR upper.
