OK, here's the deal. Let me see if I can cobble together my thoughts on this.

Don't own one yet. Want to get two or more.

Ultimately / Eventually, I want to get two very good, overbuilt suppressors, one in 9mm, and one in .22lr, for this setup:

1. The .22lr one will be used on 3 guns: (a) a CZ 452 Scout with a custom 1 in 9" bbl, and Aguila SSS ammo, (b) an AR15 type with Ceiner .22lr conversion, with regular ammo, and (c) (possibly also) a Browning Buckmark .22. It's primary role/use will be on the CZ 452.

2. The 9mm one needs to supremely overbuilt, if such a thing exists, because I intend to use it on 3 guns, including (a) CZ 85 with threaded barrel, in 9x19mm, (b) a custom SBR turnbolt in .338 Phantom, with a 10" threaded 1 in 6.5 twist bbl - but NEVER with anything except subsonic loads (300 SMKs @ 1,050), and (c) (possibly also) a T/C Contender in .357 Mag, 8" bbl, threaded (of course). It's primary use will be the custom .338 spectre turnbolt.

Now, as you can see, the 2 third (c) options are undecided present, and I could be happy without suppressing these ultimately, but if I could, it would be a bonus. But I definitely want to swap the .22 between the CZ 452 and the AR15 w/Ceiner, and definitely want to swap the 9mm between the CZ85 and the .338 Phantom turnbolt (subsonic only).

But, for now, for the time being, until I can afford to get the 2nd suppressor (which the 2nd one will be the good .22lr rimfire one), I want to get a fantastic overbuilt 9mm one, and use on the two 9mm guns, and then also temporarily use it to suppress the .22s, until I get the dedicated .22 one. In my understanding, a 9mm suppressor will still suppress a .22 a lot - enough to make a real difference. It needs to be overbuilt to handle the extra powder/gas needed for subsonic .338 Spectre loads.

Which one fits this description? And I suppose I *may* need one that is adaptable to different threadings - at a minimum, it needs to fit standard AR15 threads (1/2 x 28 tpi).

I suppose that I can make ALL of these ultimately be the same threading, of 1/2 x 28 tpi:

--AR15 (already is)
--CZ 452 Scout custom (will build it to my specs)
--.338 spectre custom (will build it to my specs)
--Browning Buckmark (can have it threaded to my specs)
--T/C Contender .357 mag (can have it threaded to my specs)

But what about my aftermarket CZ85/75 bbl that I buy - what threading will be the standard on those? What's the "pistol standard" threading specs? Are these also 1/2 x 28? Or can you choose among multiple threadings when ordering? Obviously, I want my first suppressor to be able to fit ALL 6 of these, if at all humanly possible. My guess is pistols are 5/8ths or bigger, to accomodate big bores like .45..... I know nothing about pistol suppressors...

Also, although the 9mm one needs to be large/overbuilt, it needs to be able to work with a locked breech handgun like a CZ 75. Are these two thing irreconcilably opposed, or very possible to do at the same time? Will I need one small and one large? If so, then I'm gonna forget about suppressing the CZ 85 and just look at a huge one for the .338 spectre.

What other things should I know / consider?

Thanks very much.
Sorry, noobish questions....

SWR Spectre .22 and SWR Trident 9.

What is a turnbolt?

22 and 9mm will be threaded 1/2-28 and 338 Spectre will be at least 5/8-24. I don't know if you can get a Trident mount in 5/8-24 so I'd have it threaded and fitted with a 3 lug adapter from TROS. This will allow you to use the 3 lug mount for the Trident. Just rockset the mount on.

I think he means a bolt action rifle. Us older guys call them that sometimes.

Aguila SSS ammo is not recommended in the spectre (or the sparrow for that matter). The manuals that come with them calls this ammo out specifically. I'm not saying it won't work, just saying they recommend against it.

Werd. They are rated as one of the worse .22 rounds for tumbling.

Tumbling is good for decimating rodents,... very bad for cans.

I think they may stabalize in a normal AR barrel with like a 1/9 or 1/8 twist, but not in a much slower twist .22lr barrel, but I'm not sure. My paperwork recommended against it, so I've not even thought about it.

They recommend against Aguilla SSS because the slow twist rates in regular .22 barrels, which are usually 1 in 16". Used in an AR barrel (or a barrel with AR twist rates) the long 60 grain Aguila SSS bullet will stabilize fine in those faster twist rates to avoid baffle strikes.
