I know there are a lot of things you do to get a class 3 tax stamp. What I want to know: can a class 3 Oklahoma dealer sell to a Kansas resident? Also is the Mac 11 still the cheapest class 3 to buy?
Is there a machine gun club in Tulsa?
Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure the answer is yes.
Lt. Col. Major Malfunction sells nationwide. He would sell you the NFA item and assist you in processing the paperwork. Once the paperwork is approved, the NFA item would be transferred to a dealer in your area for you to pick up.

Contact major Malfunction through the board and he will square you away.

Not quite correct. Sure you could buy from Maj M., but he would have to transfer the NFA item on an ATF Form 3 to a C3 Dealer in Kansas. The Kansas C3 dealer would then transfer the NFA item to the Kansas resident on an ATF Form 4. The buyer would have to wait on the approved Form 4 from the Kansas C3, he could not just "pick it up" when the Kansas C3 received it from Maj. M. The paperwork that Maj. M would do would be from him to the Kansas C3, not to the actual buyer.

K, I knew it was something weird. That's why I wanted him to contact MM to straighten it out.

Yes sir, an Oklahoma dealer can sell you a class 3 item, but like CAR-AR-M16 pointed out, the dealer would have to Form 3 (dealer-to-dealer transfer) it to your Kansas Class 3 dealer. Form 3s take about 3-4 weeks to get approved and they're a "tax free" transfer (no $200 tax stamp).

The majority of our silencer sales are out of state (it's very routine for a guy to buy an NFA item from an out of state dealer).

Feel free to call me if you have any questions.

Thanks to all that answered. That indeed would be another hassel that I would like to avoid! I have talked to 1 class 3 dealer and 1 class 2 mfg. They didn't have what I wanted. I do understand that owning a class 3 gun is a high priced hobby. What I have found is the Mac's are the cheapest but to injoy them you have to spend at least another $1000.00 to slow them down to a speed that is fun to shoot.

I dreamed of owning a subgun for 30 years, wasn't legal to own one then.
Now I will have to still dream of owning on because they are to high for me to own.
Thanks Again!
