Someone was selling pulled Radway Green powder a while back - don't know if it's still available at this time. I think they were calling it "RG4895", as it was basically IMR4895. I would guess you'd start low on the IMR4895 data and move up. There should be some info on it on google.

Posted this on another thread; don't know if they're still available:

bartletts sells reclaimed powder, most will have a civilian equievelent designator. Always start low and work your way up. even different batches of known powder sometimes runs different. Good luck gents, I have done pistols for years, but now working up so 45-70 loads for rifle..still straight cased...really a giant pistol load in comparison to the extreme rifle loads some of you all do.

Please if using "pulled powder" from military ammunition, it's recycled, and reprocessed artillery ammunition. Some powders are new, and some are reprocessed. Once pulled its all put together. Reusing the projectile is one thing, reusuing the powder I have issues with. Probably better to throw it out in the yard.

You would understand better if you could see the list of restricted ammunition lots, compared to serviceable lots for all types of ammunition. Most of the restricted lots are from poor performance, age, or weapon system no longer available, and this is where lots of the pulled projectiles and powders come from, and is sold through DRMO restricted sales.

Good advice. Somebody dumped a hundred rounds or so of .45ACP in our "dud" container at the range. I brought them home, and pulled the 230 grain bullets and looking at the brass that was cracked on some of them, I put the powder in a container and put a little oil in it, and put it in my burn barrel at the house. Put the brass in my "scrap brass" bin, and will sell it to a scrap yard when I get enough.

LDP, your statement about pulled powder isn't correct as far as the companies I buy from. Each powder lot is from specific calibers of ammo. Artilliery powder is in another whole class, doesn't even make it into the sales that I buy from. I have bought hundreds of pounds of surplus powder over the years and as long as you use a reputable dealer, I see no problem with it. I do use multiple sources for my load data and work up each batch for performance and safety. One batch of powder I bought several years ago included data for several calibers that needed to be dropped by 20% to keep loads in the safe pressure range, but that is the only batch I have ever bought that was misrepresented, and that may have been due to improper storage at some point in its life before I got it. I have used some of the 20mm surplus powder for large capacity belted magnum loads, and if I could get nothing else, I wouldn't be afraid to use it, but it isn't the best choice. Most of the surplus powder I get today is from gibrass.com or patsreloading.com.
Just my 2 cents worth.. Blitzfike
