So I'm looking at a 14.5" barrel

Do I need the flash hider to be pinned/welded to not be a SBR?

If I want to get an SBR, do I actually need to get the upper or lower stamped as SBR?

never can be to safe when dealing with the BATF so I would do both, but as far as who that I'm not sure on, somebody will point out a shop I'm sure.

That'd be great if someone could point out where I can get a flash hider pinned! Where do people go to shoot rifles anyway? The only place I've found is H&H and I can sense some H&H dislike here.

pinned or welded or pinned and welded? I've seen both.

Also, is there anyone in the Altus or OKC areas that does this well?

The ATF approved methods include full-fusion gas or electric steel-seam welding, high-temperature (1100°F) silver
soldering, or blind pinning with the pin head welded over.

Can you guys explain why on earth having a "pinned" 14.5" barrel is so great?
With my 16", I can have different flash hiders, golf ball launchers, suppressors and other goodies.
With that 14.5 your stuck unless you go the SBR route.
That little 1.5" difference doesn't amount to much and if it hangs on your equipment, learn to hold you gun differently.
Its kind of like the guys that used to buy the 12.5" bbls and put a 5.5" car flashhider pinned on.
I didn't understand that one either cause I could put a car slip-over on my 16", get the same look and actually be 1/2" shorter.
