So I'm looking at a 14.5" barrel

Ugh I've been back and forth all day now if I should get a 7.5, 11.5, or 14.5 barrel. My main reasoning for 14.5 is that I don't want to PCS to a state like Cali or move back home to Hawaii and have my expensive upper go to waste. But I want a 11.5 (including muzzle device, so more like 10.5) because it'd be lighter and more maneuverable. 7.5 is kind of ridiculously short, but that'd be neat.

pinned or welded or pinned and welded? I've seen both.

Also, is there anyone in the Altus or OKC areas that does this well?

I am an FFL gunsmith in Altus, and would be happy to TIG weld your f/h to your barrel for $35.

Call me if you decide on this route,

Can you guys explain why on earth having a "pinned" 14.5" barrel is so great?
With my 16", I can have different flash hiders, golf ball launchers, suppressors and other goodies.
With that 14.5 your stuck unless you go the SBR route.
That little 1.5" difference doesn't amount to much and if it hangs on your equipment, learn to hold you gun differently.
Its kind of like the guys that used to buy the 12.5" bbls and put a 5.5" car flashhider pinned on.
I didn't understand that one either cause I could put a car slip-over on my 16", get the same look and actually be 1/2" shorter.

You mean like this?

Thanks! I'll be contacting you in the next couple of weeks if I decide to go the 14.5" + FH route. Which is probable.

7.5's are great for igniting barbecue grills, or drowning out anyone within a 100' radius who's annoying. :D

11.5 is pretty much the best there is.
