I went yesterday morning and had some good shooting for the first couple hours but shot terrible. My brothers both limited. I ended up with 6. I was shooting a 20 ga o/u that I had never hunted dove with and just could not hit them very well. After one of the brothers limited, I switched to his 12 ga and got 3 of the next 4 birds that came in but they were just about done flying by then.

I killed 11 before running out of legal light on a shallow pond Thursday evening.
Killed a limit this morning, of passing birds sitting in a fence row. Done by 0930. We are grilling dove tonight so we can get back out in the morning. I'll post pics when I can get on a computer.

Just curious...how early in the morning is good for dove? I took 8 yesterday and just 3 today. My shooting accounts for the low numbers. I found a nice field on public land that I haven't seen a soul at in the past two days.

Its just me, but I like to be in the field early, like daylight, so that I can watch the birds come to the fields. If its a new field, it gives one time to adjust where they want to sit.
If I'm familiar with the field, I still like to be there at daylight. I love watching, listening to the animal world wake up around me. :D

SW Arizona doves were thick as usual. Regs changed to ten dove limit so you don't have to count white vs. mourning dove.

Lots of Eurasian ringnecks.

Those are big birds and no limits on them. Hunted a wheat field next to a date palm garden and limited early on mostly whitewings.

Some rice, salt, pepper, garlic, butter, and white wine.

That's the best part isn't it? I was sitting in a field just SW of Apache yesterday morning at 6:30A. We had a nice, cool southerly breeze of 67 degrees. We had a small fury of dove activity just after sunrise for about 20 minutes...then it tapered to nothing by 9AM. I squeezed out a take of 8 birds after I got my skills tuned a bit. I couldn't hit anything the first 30 minutes.
