10mm has never really caught on, I think they need a good slogan. How about:

10mm for when dead just isn't enough

10mm for when even a 44 magnum doesn't make you feel like a man

10mm because you just never know when you will be attacked by a bear

As a .45 user I can't wait for that video. No doubt it will be along the lines of the myth that the .45 is a death ray and can one-shot someone regardless of shot placement

Im ready for the .45 one too!

Yeah I carry a .45 so shot placement isnt an issue. Just hit a guy in the finger with it and hes out of commission for good.

I know Dr.'s who say that when fellas come in with gun shot wounds and they learn its a .45 they dont start treatment, they start fillin out the death certificate.

And .45 tend to be bigger guns so they are inherently more accurate. Plus the bigger size just fits my big hands better, and you know what they say about a man with big hands...

I understand that a near miss with a .45 will take a man down just as good as a hit in the chest. If that does not work, just the muzzle blast may do the job. Or make the bad guy wet his pants just looking down the big sewer pipe barrel which could short out his stolen Ipod and electrocute him on the spot.

So there are lots of other options with a .45 you just don't have with the tiny 9mm.:thumbup3:

I've been carrying a derringer for years... If I go to the city I load it with 45 colt.. When around the farm during the summer months.. I carry .410 shotgun shells for the Copperhead snakes out here. Last summer I killed one within 30 feet of my front porch.. about 10:15 at night. I also ran into one the same distance and didn't have my derringer on me.. went to the house to get it and it was gone. I also killed a 32 inch copperhead about 3 weeks later. Halfway between the front door of the house and the barn.. I had to scream at my daughter coming up the hill on the 4 wheeler.. so her and the dog wouldn't get in my line of fire this was also late at night after we had milked some cow's. (last couple summers it's been too hot during the days for the copperheads to be out so they come out after dark).. So I really like my shotgun shells.. my grand parents live a little further down in the canyons than I do.. and they killed 11 copperheads last year.

Now that we can "open carry" I've thought about switching to something else. I love my shotgun shells..(although I recently bought some 45 colt shotshell's and will probably use them this summer. Pointing down at the ground at 6 feet away, I get a lovely cantalope sized spread. And I don't get near the recoil as a 3 inch shotgun shell gives me.) I also love the Bond Arms driving holster. It is the most comfortable for me to carry while I work on the farm or if I'm sitting in a truck and it doesn't get in the way like a side holster would. It also has the 1 flap for easy off and easy on should I wish to go in somewhere where I can't legally carry. No fumbling with the belt in the parking lot.. to slide another style of holster off and on. And I wear wrangler jeans.. so anything insde the pants is impossible. I have to admit.. I get lazy and most of the time I don't take the shotgun shells out..and replace with 45 colt... just because I'm going to the parts store in town. My biggest fear is being in a situation where I have to pull my gun... and I have 410 number 7 and half shot to defend myself. Pointing down at the ground the shot hold's together enough to kill a snake.. but I've tried it at cardboard 30 feet away and my short derringer barrel won't hold the pattern together good enough to take anyone down. My best hope is the shot and what they do get hit with is enough to make them hesitate.. giving me several step's headstart at running away. lol... and yes I said "run away". I truly have no desire to ever have to pull my gun and kill another human being, but I carry my gun knowing I may have to do just that.

Again,, now that we can open carry I've thought about researching another weapon to carry. But I can't seem to get past my Holster scenario.( again My bond arms driving holster is a dream) That, plus in the roughly 5 plus months since the new law went into affect I have only seen 2 individual's Open Carry. Both were buddies that pulled up to a gas station and were filling their tanks of fuel. Other than those 2 guys in the same pick up I have yet to see anyone else "ever" open carry. I honestly admit I don't think I could just slide my Berretta 92fs holster on my belt and walk into walmart to get some Toilet Paper and eggs. At least not until I get comfortable watching other people do it and do it fairly often.

lol.. Damn.. I didn't intend to get on here and ramble about this stuff.. I guess it's because mentally it's been on my mind for a while now. Everyone was commenting on what they Carry... That's all I really intended to do when I started this quick reply... was just announce that I carry... a .45 Colt... although most days... there's a better than average chance I've got Shotshell's loaded in it. Peace
