You don't need a dealer to make an SBR. Submit your paperwork and pay the stamp then wait. While waiting, engrave your receiver with your name, city, and state. Wait some more and in about 5 months you have approval to assemble the pieces and play.

Looking for recommendations on who to use to do the SBR paperwork in the Oklahoma city Metro area. Thanks for your input.

If you are building/making your own, like everyone said, you don't need a dealer. Just a Form 1. However, if you are buying an already registered SBR from an individual in state, then you will fill out a Form 4. The only reason you would need to go through a dealer is if it's an already registered SBR and you are buying from someone out of state and have to have it transferred to your local class III dealer. Hope this helps.

Like others mentioned, If your building your own, just fill out the form 1. Thats what I did last year. Its easy and saves your some money that you can put towards the stamp

Thanks for the information and recommendations of the dealers for this project. I will explore the option of doing it myself. I didn't realize that you could do the paper work your self. Thanks again for the information on this, Aaron

Some other question, who do you recommend doing the engraving? any one local for this? Trust or Individual? and on caliber selection for this, Has anyone been approved for multi caliber? Thanks, Aaron

Southwest Engravers, down on Classen I believe. I did my SBR as an individual, and my cans are on a trust. Trust saves you a trip to the Sheriff's office. If you want to use multiple calibers, list all that you would want to use, I don't believe they will approve if it just states "multiple".
