Apologies if this was already discussed, I didn't find it.

http://www.politico.com/story/2013/05/tom-coburn-gun-amendments-water-bill-91032.html

A 2009 law repealed the gun ban in national parks and National Wildlife Refuge lands, but the corps has said it does not apply to corps projects. The corps manages 11.7 million acres, including hundreds of recreation areas and lakes. Coburn’s amendment would direct the corps to follow state gun laws on corps-managed land.

I sure do hope that this effort is successful. Nearly every large lake in Oklahoma is owned by ACoE, and carry is prohibited at these properties.

Unfortunately it failed. The reasons given for it's failure sound false to me.

...Senate Environment and Public Works Chairwoman Barbara Boxer didn’t object to the gun vote but made clear that the focus of her bill was on water projects and jobs.

“This is a public works bill dealing with water infrastructure,” she said on the Senate floor. “It is not a bill about guns. It is not a bill about a woman’s right to choose. It is not a bill about gay rights and gay marriage. It is not a bill about those very hot-button issues that we know divide us.”

Sen. Mark Kirk was the only Republican to vote no on the amendment. A dozen Democrats crossed the aisle and voted yes: Max Baucus, Mark Begich, Joe Donnelly, Kay Hagan, Martin Heinrich, Heidi Heitkamp, Mary Landrieu, Joe Manchin, Mark Pryor, Jeanne Shaheen, Jon Tester and Angus King, a Maine independent who caucuses with Democrats.

Thanks Dale,

Ok, so I looked at Keystone Lake. There's not any kind of boundaries on a map, but a list of recreation areas.

So, I guess I can't carry in the recreation areas; I guess this would include boat ramps which means you wouldn't carry in your boat.
Lots of guessing involved here.

I wonder where this is defined, spelled out, or something.

Being law abiding takes a lot of effort.

Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., said allowing more guns onto Corps property would increase danger to the dams, flood control systems and other crucial water projects.

"Did she say that? What the *bleep* just happened?"
