Thanks a lot Obama. I just got a letter from Insure Oklahoma, which is what I use for insurance as a self-employed person. The letter states that due to federal changes to the Insure Oklahoma program, I am no longer eligible.

This is complete crap.

What
I work for a small company, and I am the only employee in Oklahoma. Here's what I did instead of insureOK:

Became a member of the local Chamber of Commerce. You can join the OKC chamber, even if you live in Stillwater. Dues are like $180 year.

Joined that chamber's 'group' BCBSOK health insurance plan. Instead of a crappy, costly individual plan, it is a slightly less crappy and less costly group plan. If you or family have a pre-existing condition, this is the only way to go.

Hit up a few local chambers, both Yukon and OKC offer such an option close to me. (see: http://www.yukoncc.com/insurance/)

Yep, got a local restaurant group that is going to get kicked off Insure Oklahoma. A good number have families.

One of the drawbacks of Oklahoma not doing it's own exchange is giving the Feds more control over current programs.

Yes but Barack said that Obamacare is going to save you an average of $2,600 per year on your health insurance, AND you'll get to keep your same doctor! He said so himself, I heard him! :rolleyes2

I am on the phone with them. They said that the ACA cut the income levels in half. Whereas before you could make 65k in a family of 5, now you can only make 25K in order to qualify for the Insure Oklahoma program, which is supposed to be for self employed persons. This is such bs.

Research this before signing up for a Chamber. BCBS has told our firm (who uses Blue Chamber also) that the Blue Chamber plans will be going away, I'm not sure what this means for existing individuals on the plan or how long they can keep them.

I'm truly sorry you have to put up with that kind of bs.

Unfortunately, this is not over. I just spent way too much time listening to his "campaign" Q&A this afternoon. The man has no substance. He spouts bs and the media refuses to challenge him. He had the audacity to say the increasing the debt limit ceiling would not increase the debt. As though when he's given a higher debt ceiling limit, he's not gonna spend more. His spin makes a tornado look like a dead calm.

Sorry, I didn't mean to mess up your thread. I just am to the point where I can't stand this guy.
