These intrigue me, after trying to do research on how to get one and actually be able to use it legally I find that the information is vague does anyone have any information on these if they are legal to use? I know I can legally own one but using is a different story. I own 1 suppressor and have another pending paperwork return so I am familiar with the process for that side of the NFA but I am not a SOT payer.

IF you apply for and get an SOT and IF you get a law enforcement demo letter, THEN you can get a post sample Glock Select Fire Drop in conversion kit and possess it legally, so long as you renew your SOT.

There is absolutely no other way in the United States to legally have one and avoid Club Fed.

Pretty much the same thing. you can become a legitimate ( actually deal and manufacture for profit) 07 FFL and pay an SOT tax every year. Then you can just build one. Just like G2G said if you give up the FFL or fail to pay the tax then you have to give it up

Just so you are clear, you have to dispose of any post-sample machineguns BEFORE you let your FFL/SOT expire. If you still have them after your FFL/SOT has expired, they are now contraband.

Also, if you get the SOT and can get get an LE demo letter, why would you want to get one of those conversion devices? Why not just get a G18?

So you guys are saying if you have a type 07 FFL/02SOT you still need a demo letter to manufacture a MG?
