Anybody staying clear of NFA stuff because you don't want to register it? I understand we are all on the radar, but it would seem registering something would make the target a little bigger. I was reading on another forum that a guy decided to do an AR pistol instead of an SBR because he did not want to register it. Thoughts?

Yup, I'm doing a 223 ak pistol build with an ar mag conversion that I'd love to make into an underfolder but probably won't, due to the inconvenience.

This is most of the reason why I do not own any NFA stuff. I don't want to invite the government into my life, where it isn't needed. I don't really want anything that falls under the NFA enough, to either have to deal with the ATF, nor the hassle of it all. Kind of takes the fun out of it for me.

But I don't think any different of the people that enjoy theirs, and I do enjoy hearing about them from you all.

You shouldn't be believing a lot of stuff you read on the web. I wouldn't worry about it.

Finances are also a factor, I suppose.
That's pretty much it for me--I prefer private party sales in general, but I just am not willing to spend the money for the NFA weapons I want, or the $200 tax stamps that go along with them. They already have my prints from my SDA license and DCM/CMP paperwork, and my signature is on a few 4473s rotting in a warehouse somewhere, so there's not much point in being paranoid...
