Been working for the man for 9 years. At this point, him knowing I own a NFA is the least of my worries. After a secret and TS clearance, I'm sure on someones radar and not just because of guns.

Hence why I finally got into the NFA game recently.

Finances are also a factor, I suppose.

This is the only thing keeping me from getting into the NFA game. I hate having to go through all of the hassle necessary to own any NFA item, but if I had the money to do it I'd be willing to deal with it. I just need to stop adding hobbies so I can afford a couple of them better. :-)

Don't know what you are getting at. I'm in the OK Army National Guard. I do quite a bit more than that but that it the tag line that everyone knows.

That's pretty much it for me--I prefer private party sales in general, but I just am not willing to spend the money for the NFA weapons I want, or the $200 tax stamps that go along with them. They already have my prints from my SDA license and DCM/CMP paperwork, and my signature is on a few 4473s rotting in a warehouse somewhere, so there's not much point in being paranoid...

Not trying to give you a hard time; but if there is a "list" ... well, you're probably already on it; like these guys are as well. And me too for that matter. That damn Pisson10 is probably on there too, but for all them cheap jailhouse tattoos he got.

That's cause you are "one of them" also!

Loss of dignity like that isn't cheap. LOL

I don't really want anything that falls under the NFA enough, to either have to deal with the ATF, nor the hassle of it all. Kind of takes the fun out of it for me.

The fun that is taken out of it while you wait for 5+ months is instantly replaced with the fun you will have for a lifetime enjoying your new toy. I own 3 (about to be 4) NFA items and they are a hell of a good time. I hear where you are coming from though. One day I hope you decide to join us on the dark side, we haz cookies.

The paperwork is really no big deal and the $200 tax is what some folks spend going to a concert or a Thunder game, so that isn't a big deal either. The wait sucks, but if you just forget about it, one day you are pleasantly surprised and can take your new toy home.

The way I look at it is "the man" doesn't want you to have these NFA items and if you don't get any, they win. I would rather have my toys and enjoy them while I can. That way I win.

YMMV

The biggest deterrent for me is the wait. Nothing like spending a grand on a suppressor and stamp then waiting 9 freaking months to get to take it home. :finger:
