So there are lots of suppressors out there. Many price ranges.

Which one will be worth the $$?

5.56 variety.

Is it like Coke & Pepsi, Ford and Chevy, Glock and real gun?

Most bang for the buck I would say YHM. They make very nice 5.56 suppressors for ~$500. AAC is a little better but also a little more expensive. I have a YHM QD .30 cal and really like it.

Best deal going is probably the Silencerco Specwar. It's a very good deal in 556, but you can get more use out of it if you get a 30 cal can

Yes, I have a AAC 762SDN-6 and use it on M&P-10 and 2 AR-15's. I'd look at getting the Saker 762, 556, 556k. Not sure about the 762 version but Dustin Gaunder had the Saker 556 for $750 plus tax, mount included.

I don't really like the best bang for the buck mentality on NFA items. They are so complicated to buy, these are long term purchases. Your can collection may be upgraded as new technology comes out, but there isn't a great market for used cans. So any purchase made, at least in my opinion, is a life long purchase. The entire spectrum from low end to quality isn't but a few hundred dollars anyway. I'd spend a little more for the quality up front.

For a 556 can, I like the brands mentioned here, SilencerCo and AAC. I need to pick up one that is rated for an M16 now.

You need to get that m16 into a more suitable configuration.

Saker 7.62 is a good option. It's a little more, but you can easily swap end caps to make it 5.56. Great mounts and a great company (SilencerCo). Best part is that you're NOT giving $ to AAC.
