I just purchased a stripped lower, and plan to make it into a SBR. Can I e-file right away, and just use generic info on length and manufacture/model of gun?

Since you already have the lower you intend to use to make your SBR, you already have the name and model of the original manufacturer. You simply need to know the barrel length, overall length and caliber that you intend to make your SBR in when your Form 1 is approved. You will also need to engrave your trust name, city and state as your are the maker.

Got it, thanks. Is "Multi-Cal" valid? Was tossing around the idea of having both a 300blk and 223 upper for it.

No. The Form 1 is an application to make. You can only make it in one caliber and length and you must specify that. Once you have initially made your SBR in the specified caliber/length, you may change it all you want. You do not have to have permission for other calibers/lengths.

Here is a good visual guide of how to fill out an eForm: http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?147975-Visual-guide-How-to-fill-out-a-Form-1-using-EFORMS

There's always some discussion about getting it engraved first, then sending in your paperwork. I think it's a good idea if you are shipping it off for engraving just in case it gets lost or otherwise screwed up by the engraver. If you are engraving locally then of course it's not an issue. Just food for thought regarding that. I'd hate to see someone stuck with a $200 stamp for a lower that was lost by FedEx lol

You have a year to cancel it. Of course you would go to the back of the line if it got lost.

I've got my form 1 back on mr scorpion, haven't had it engraved. Waiting for 922 parts to be completed, still sitting with the "awesome" if brace

I used SW engravers not too long ago. They have some weird hours because the lady is having some health issues, but yes they are still in business. I'd suggest calling first and asking the hours. Best engraving around for $15!!
