Gas block question

On a short upper is an adjustable gas block recommended? If planning on putting a can on it ?

I have an adjustable one on one of my 300 blackouts. I will have one on every AR I own whenever money and time allows.

might want to check out the new GemTech bolt carrier, It has a selector switch on the carrier
to vent a LOT of gas with a can.
I have one and being a "Leftie" I no longer eat gas and crud.

Personally, i go with a lockable, adjustable block on almost every build to reduce recoil impulse, minimize BCG abuse, minimize U.R. fouling, and make the most of your muzzle device.

Preference is seekins. Adjustable blocks that don't lock at your adjustment have a tendency to un-tune themselves w/o locktite. Seekins uses a second screw to maintain your tune w/o toy having to go through too much trouble to readjust

I like the Next Intent adjustable gas block. It has a second screw to lock the main gas screw in place. Clamps on and weighs 0.58 oz.

Put one round at a time in your magazine of the weakest ammo you plan to shoot. Then adjust it out until it consistently locks back. Can usually get it set in 5-10 min. Easy.

+1 on being easy, DON'T FORGET TO BRING THE PROPER SIZED ALLEN WRENCH!!! Took a couple rifles to the range the other day with the sole intent of tuning the gas blocks and forgot my tools. Wouldn't have been so bad if my range wasn't almost an hour away!
