I have a Savage MKII FVSR with a Huntertown Arms Guardian suppressor, and when loaded with CCI quiet ammo, you'd be a believer in Hollywood quiet.

My 9mm AR with 165 grain using a YHM Wraith is damn close to it. If you're the shooter you hear the action moving, a whoosh sound and then impact on the berm. If you're the spectator, you hear a whoosh and slap on the berm.

Getting super quiet suppresson is attainable with the right caliber and load.

You'll need a piston/booster for the P226. I'd suggest looking at the Osprey 9 or Octane 9 by Silencerco. You can go with the 45 versions and add caliber versatility at the expense of some extra weight and length. Make sure the adapters/boosters are well supported with whatever you buy. The noise reduction you are looking for is realistic. The Omega 9K will also work but will be toward the higher end of the DB range. But is it less than 10oz and under 5" long!

I ended up getting the AAC TiRant in .45

I can/do use it for a 9mm 1911, a .45 1911 and 300blk (subsonic only). The slightly higher db from a mismatched caliber to the size of the can is ok with me. I'm not a mall ninja.

I have thought of these as well. What would you say the dbs are with a 9mm load?

I have done some reading in the Osprey. It seems like a pretty sturdy little can as well. Would you recommend getting one for a 45 and using it with a 9mm? Or going with the 9mm dedicated can?

I own a Osprey 9, Octane 9, and waiting on stamps for a Gemtech Auror and Degroat Nano. I have only 9mm host and will adjust and buy a bigger caliber can should that ever become an issue. My next suppressor purchase will be a SiCo Omega 9k that will live on my Scorpion until I can eventually pick up a HK sear and gun.

Not sure of the SOT availability up your way. You make it to Tulsa or Okc and there are plenty of options. I'd call to make sure they have a few in stock or some demo cans before making a special trip.

Watch a lot of YouTube videos to get a handle on what you want. "NFA Review Channel" is a decent resource.

I did both. I have an Osprey 45 that I have ran with 45s and 9. I don't have a threaded barrel for my .40 yet. I really like it, but it is a tad bulky compared to the dedicated 9 suppressors. Not having to use the extremely tall suppressor sights is a plus. I haven't tried it on my 300BLK yet. And it would not work well with my MPX. I'm very happy with it, but bought it with the intention of using it for multi calibers. If you are 100% sure you we'll never run it on something else, you may want a dedicated 9 suppressor.

I bought an Omega 9k mainly to use with my MPX. It is very small and rated for 300Blk supersonic. I imagine it will see some time on my 300 and I will try it on a 9mm. Hopefully it will be out of jail in the next few weeks.
