Over the years I have sold an AOW, Suppressor and MG thru the classifieds on here. No issues. No need to involve a dealer for an in state transfer unless you just want them to look over your paperwork.

you sold a MG with no in state transfer? how does that work?[/Q

If you transfer to a dealer a $200 tax must be paid. Then another $200 tax from the purchaser.
For instate sales the private owner can fill out the paperwork and submit. Thereby avoiding the extra tax.
For out of state sales you must pay the $200 tax and transfer it to a dealer. Then he will transfer to a dealer in another state tax free. Then the purchaser in the other state will have to pay the $200 tax to receive the gun.
