Swedish M94-14

Well,, I went to the gun show in Durant and ran into a very nice M94-14. So nice it had a $995 price tag on it. I drooled a lot and went on my way.
As luck would have it, I later found another nice, albeit mis-matched copy which I took a chance on. I'm still looking it over, but I'm generally well pleased. Bore is good; has a well-done stock repair under the bolt handle; the bayonet lug was not very well finished; the stock disk is unmarked, which I assume to mean it is a replacement; nosepiece, front barrel band and butt plate are non-matching; and no sling.

The kicker is, this came with it.

I'm not a bayonet person, but this one looks like the real deal. I sure hope so.

I was surprised, as well. The high-priced one was from a dealer who had a number of 96's. The one I bought was from a private seller with a table that only had, I think, 4 rifles on it.

My problem now is to find a place to shoot it. Need 300 yds to properly zero it. Oh, well, I probably won't get around to that until Spring, anyway. In the meantime, I'll just fondle it.

Your rifle looks really good. The M94 is very unique and seems to be really rare. Well, until lately anyway. I looked for a decent one, casually at gun shows for almost ten years before finding one I couldn't live without. I see them somewhat regularly at gun shows now but they are usually pretty expensive. The next quest is a Swedish Ljungman AG M42.

Didn't see it when I was there. Wasn't looking for one because every one of these I've seen were just way too high. That one looks pretty darn good even if it don't match.

Someone was walking around with a Ljungman AND a Luxembourg FN49 (in 30-06, a rare critter!) at the last Wanenmacher show. I stopped him to inspect the FN49, but found it to be mismatching and possessed of a poorly varnished stock, so I passed.

I had a pair of M94's, including a rare unconverted example that was all matching, but sold both. Very nice carbine, but just not for me.

I am a little suspicious of the Bayo. Extreme restoration, or clone or the nicest surplus Bayo I've ever seen.

The scabbard has a crown on the ball at it's point. There is a tiny crown on the back side of the push button on the handle. The base of the blade has an anchor (?) with the letters EJ on the left side of the anchor and AB on the right.

That's all I see.

There are a lot of YouTube vids on identifying them. I use to collect them. For one to be that perfect, it may have been a restored. The wood seems perfect. It's a swede of the right period.
Google Swede Bayonet identifications and it will give you a list of the markings as well as pictures.
It looks great.
